Speaking English Tips : Beginner Lesson

Speaking English Tips : Beginner Lesson

In our last lesson we learnt about introducing self and others. We also learnt about the classroom English in the form of Imperative sentences for suggestions and instructions, the use of wh questions for enquiry. Reading aloud, answering questions and recording were some of the hints given in the first lesson.
Today we start with a group work.
Topic : Waiting for bus.
Imagine you and your friends are waiting for the bus at the bus stop. Imagine you are speaking with your friends. Just dream about it and think speaking. Next step find friends and talk with them about it. Convince them to do the group work.
Start listening, reading and speaking.

In this lesson we learn about useful expressions (in form of verbal questions).
  • Are you ready? Yes, I'm ready./Yes, I'm. /No, I'm not ready.
  • Is he /she ready?
  • Are you coming to gym/office/movie /bank? Off course /Sorry, I won't.
  • Do you watch cricket /football matches? Yes, I do. /No, I don't.
  • Have you completed homework/project/assignments?

  • Will you come to my home?
  • Is this poem taught?
  • Shall we go?
  • May I sit here beside you?
