The virtual conversation conveyed in the conversation is to be converted into a message for a third person. Basically such messages contain the following:

  Format :

• Time
• Name of a person to whom the message is directed
• Body of the message
• Name of the writer / sender

Points to remember : While writing the body of the message, the following points have to be kept in mind.
• Only the most important details should be written.
• No new information should be added.
• Grammatically correct sentences should be used.
• Indirect or reported speech should be used.
• The message should be written in simple language and without any abbreviations.
• Check your message before you submit and send it.
• Be friendly and polite.
• Avoid pun/ambiguity/witticism, in short words that would create confusion or a chaotic situation.

  Example:

You receive a telephone call from your mother’s office when she is not at home. You have the following conversation with the speaker. But you have to go for your tuition class. "Stop," said the other. "I don't want all that. Shall I succeed in my present search or not? Answer this and go. Otherwise I will not let you go till you disgorge all your coins." The astrologer muttered a few and replied, "All right. I will speak. But will you give me a rupee if what I say is convincing? Otherwise, I will not open my mouth, and you may do what you like." After a good deal of haggling the other agreed. The astrologer said, "You were left for dead. Am I right?"

"Good fellow!" He bared his chest to show the scar. "What else?"

When shoes were first made, they were made flat without a heel. Since normal walking requires that the heel of the foot should strike the ground before the toes, these early shoes used to wear out quickly at the heel, prompting shoemakers to reinforce the heel, and so creating heeled shoes.

Women have been wearing high- heeled shoes for centuries in the pursuit of fashion. However, regularly wearing shoes with high heels can be hazardous. The biggest risk, perhaps, is losing your balance and breaking an ankle. Wearing high heels interferes with your normal gait. They throw your weight forward, making it difficult to sustain upright balance. They force you to use a lot of extra muscular effort to keep from falling forward.  Much of this extra effort is concentrated in the lower back arch, which can lead to back pain. Experts warn that high heels can also result in a variety of foot problems, including metatarsalgia, which is pain in the ball of the foot. Another condition called Morton's neuroma, which is 10 times more common in women than men, is caused by the thickening of tissue around a nerve between the third and fourth toes. It usually envelops in response to imitation and excessive pressure, such as the burden of weight high heels place on the ball of the foot.

However, if one cannot resist wearing 'heels, the following tips can help to   keep your feet healthy.

Always wear the correct fit. Have both feet measured the next time you buy shoes. You will probably find that one foot is larger than the other – always buy shoes to fit the larger foot, never buy shoes that are too tight. Buy shoes later in the day when your feet are a bit swollen. Never wear a heel higher than 6.5 cm. Only buy heels that you are comfortable in.

Did you give a cheerful greeting to the friend who came along?

Or a churlish sort of "Howdy" and then vanish in the throng?

Were you selfish pure and simple as you rushed along the way,

Or is someone mighty grateful for a deed you did today?

Can you say tonight, in parting with the day that's slipping fast,

That you helped a single brother of the many that you passed?

Is a single heart rejoicing over what you did or said;

Does a man whose hopes were fading now with courage look ahead?

Did you waste the day, or lose it; was it well or sorely spent?

Did you leave a trail of kindness or a scar of discontent?

As you close your eyes in slumber do you think that God would say,

You have earned one more tomorrow by the work you did today?

B.A., B.com, & B.sc Exam.

Ways to write a letter.

Step 1: Decide how formal your letter needs to be:

Personal letters may be short but they are usually chatty and informal, writing to friends or family.
Formal letters are written to people we don't know on a personal level for different reasons: to find out information, to apply for a job or a course to make a complaint.

Step 2: Organise your writing:

1. Opening: Dear Mr/Mrs   surname (formal), Hi   name/ Dear  name (informal)

2. Introductory paragraph: initial greeting and/ or introduction of the reason to write.

thank you for your letter/email about..., many thanks for your letter (formal)
I am writing to tell you about, guess what?, I am sorry I haven't written for a while (informal)

3. Body: main information divided into one or more paragraphs depending on the length of the letter.

I look forward to hearing from you without delay.(formal)
I can't wait to meet up soon, write back soon (informal)

4. Final remarks: say what you expect from the letter's recipient whether you want them to write back.

If you start with "Dear Sir or Madam", finish with "Your's faithfully", regards/ Best regards/ Kind regards. (formal)
Best wishes, Love, All the best, keep in touch. (Informal)

5. Closing

6. Name/ Signature

The Indefinite Articles- a and an*

*The Indefinite Articles- a and an*

*Uncountable nouns are nouns that are either difficult or impossible to count. Uncountable nouns include intangible things (e.g., information, air), liquids (e.g., milk, wine), and things that are too large or numerous to count (e.g., equipment, sand, wood). Because these things can’t be counted.*

*The indefinite article is only for singular nouns. Uncountable nouns can be modified by words like some, however.*

e.g.

*Wrong* - Please give me a water.

*Water is an uncountable noun and should not be used with the indefinite article.*

*Right* - Please give me some water.

*However, if you describe the water in terms of countable units (like bottles), you can use the indefinite article.*

e.g.

*Right* - Please give me a bottle of water.

*Wrong* - Please give me an ice.

*Right* - Please give me some ice.

*Note that depending on the context, some nouns can be countable or uncountable (e.g., hair, noise, time):*

1) We need a light in this room.

2) We need some light in this room.

1.4 Big Data -Big Insights

1.4 Big Data -Big Insights

What is Big Data

Big Data - Big Insights is an important prose for teachers and students of 21st  century . In the age of information technology, everyone should be aware of the importance of information shared, stored, monitored and analysed. The data is such a huge that the adjective big to Data seems to be small. Reading of the prose gives  the teacher as well as students the big insights. We are aware of the words like kb (kilo byte), mb (mega byte), gb (giga byte) and tb( tera byte) . These are the measures of information( data.).
Through this lesson we understand what exactly data means and how huge it is. Our sharing on whats-app , face book , twitter and other social media , our online transactions over amazon, snap-deal, flip-cart are recorded and analysed.  The data is used by different organisations .

Uses of Big Data
We get calls, emails and messages from unknown for selling goods and services. When our child is in9th or 10th std,  we get messages from coaching classes. Have you ever given thought how do they know that your child is in std 10th? They get such information from big data. Our online activities are collected and analysed. While surfing shopping websites, they show the things of your interest first. Our mobiles show how many steps we have walked.

There are many uses of data collected.
  • Location Tracking
    • GPS and Google Maps make use of Big Data to track the location
    • We get information about traffic and one way route and accident prone areas .
  • Understanding the weather pattern
    • Weather sensors and satellites use data to forecast weather.
  • Banking, Finance and Trading
    • Design suitable plans for investors knowing their needs .
    • Monitor financial markets
  • Sports
    • Sportsmen used data to improve their performance.
After studying this lesson we can be well informed about data world wide. We can find a way to use such data to improve the educations system. We can take precaution what to share and what not. We are warned not to share passwords and pin codes of Credit/ Debit Card. Here we find the reason.
